Welcome to smallcause, an online community of volunteers and service projects.

Privacy is important to us and we know it’s important to you.

Information Collected by smallcause

When you join smallcause, you submit information such as email address and name. As part of your personal profile, you may choose to submit additional information such as social causes important to you and other content, such as photos. smallcause may collect other non-personally identifiable data, which may include your IP address and what browser you are using. Through the use of the smallcause privacy settings, the visibility of much of your information remains strictly under your control. If you post, and make visible, personally identifiable information, you should be aware that such information can be read, collected, or used by other members, including some who you may not know. smallcause uses cookies, which are a common Internet technology. Most websites use cookies to provide features to their members. For example, cookies allow smallcause to store and retrieve login information from your system. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. You may set your browser to refuse cookies, but you may not be able to take full advantage of smallcause features if you do.

Use of information

The information you submit will be displayed on your profile page, the project pages and in other areas of smallcause entirely based on the privacy settings set by you.  Search results also take into account your privacy settings. Your email address will be used by smallcause to inform you of changes or updates to your account. You may choose what information to receive by editing your privacy settings from the “my privacy” control panel. smallcause may also, from time to time, send you emails regarding new features or system-related notifications. smallcause will not disclose your personally identifiable information unless we reasonably believe that we are required to do so by law, regulation or other government authority or to protect the rights and property of smallcause, its members, affiliates or the pubic.

smallcause may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. You are encouraged to read the privacy statements of other websites you may visit.

Changing or Removing Information

Access and control of your personal information on smallcause is available through your profile editing tools. You may modify or remove any of your profile information at any time by logging into your account. You may cancel your smallcause account at any time.

Children

smallcause does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are under 13 please do not send any information about yourself to smallcause. If you believe smallcause may have information from or about a child under 13, please send an email to privacy@smallcause.com.

Acquisition

smallcause reserves the right to transfer your personal information in the event of a transfer of ownership of smallcause. If an acquiring company should plan to materially change this privacy policy, you will be notified.

Terms of Use, Notices and Revisions

If you choose to visit smallcause, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use, including limitations on damages, arbitration of, and application of law of the state of Illinois. Visit this policy page often, as we may change the policy from time to time. If there are changes, they will be posted on this page along with the new policy's effective date.
